I need your thoughts on this question. Often when I tell someone about renting timeshare they either seem confused or think it is a scam. Other times I am told that they don't want to deal with pushy salespeople. Let's be honest, the people that check you in at the resorts are salespeople, it's their job. However, once you give them the initial "no thanks" they will leave you alone for the remainder of your vacation. They will entice you with FREE items that may or may not make it worth it to waste 45 minutes of your time on a sales pitch (keep a timer so it does not go longer). Most of the salespeople that I have talked to at check-in were not pushy. So, if you say "no thanks" up front you will avoid the pushy salespeople. If you give in and do the sale pitch for the FREE item then you need to go in with the mindset that your salesperson may be pushy but you can say "no" and not hurt their feelings. Unless you want to say yes, then that's on you. My parents said yes several times and now that is why we are in the timeshare rental business ;P.
